Marina Shafir Signs with InvictaFC in the Featherweight Division
According to many news outlets and a few twitter post including one from Ronda’s mom Marina signs with Invicta FC and looks like she will be
fighting in the 145lbs division the same division as Cris Cyborg in which we could potentially see a fight between these two fighters sometime in the future.
Marina who has a perfect amateur record going 5-0 and then went pro in 2014 and did what many thought would be a bigger Ronda but only in the Featherweight division submitted her opponent with an armbar in April 2014.
Things did not go well for her second pro fight when she went on to fight a heavy hands puncher Amanda Bell, who I have seen in action when she took out Jessamyn Duke back in her ammy days, Marina went into the fight with all the confidence of winning but Amanda had something else and took out Marina with a KO just 37 seconds in the first round leaving many stunned in the WMMA community.
Marina being signed to Invicta hope to see a turn around since her loss back in 2014, no opponent has been named as of yet and not timetable for her to hit the cage just yet.
