Angelica’s Chavez Camp Responds to Critics

Well I have now heard both sides of of the a fight that was supposed to happen between Angelica Chavez and Rosary Califano and it shows that both sides is still not understanding what happen for the event that was supposed to happen for the November 7th fight in New Mexico.

Still after hearing both interviews I cannot not see how the Chavez camp justify their claims of the promotion did not communicate with Rosary’s camp. Chavez camp claims “The reason that was given to us was that she was over qualified and the Chavez family refused to fight her,” Armendariz stated. “I called the promoter and I go, ‘What does that mean? Refuse to fight her? They both have a signed contract. Are they both gonna stand on the scale, then Angela Chavez is going to go ‘I’m not going to fight you?’’ I kept asking the promoter, ‘Are they going to give Rosary another opponent?’ and he just didn’t respond at all.” they also did not want to fight Rosary due to the facts that they did not have an accurate records at the time and the camp said that they heard either by word of mouth or looked online that there was 5 different records of Rosary, so WHY didn’t you call Rosary herself to find out what her official record was? right? During the interview Chavez camp kept saying that they have been in the business for 36 years? Oh really if you been in the business for 36 years why didn’t you just call Rosary and verify the content yourself, yeah you said you tried to call to find out and said no one would return your call, as a business professional you say that you are, wouldn’t you keep on trying to find out what the real record is instead of making just one phone call and wait for a call back? hmmm…

Now here is another instance with another fighter that was supposed to fight Angelica and they refused to fight her due some type circumstances… from Brandy Nerney “

Brandy Nerney has this response to his comments…
“His camp called 12 days before the fight. I don’t weigh 131. I weighed 115 and I said I’d come down to 107. They put me on there internet flier. Tell Master Chavez to quit stretching the truth!
He didn’t want the fight because he wanted more tape on me. If you have been in this game for 36 years you should know how it works. You can’t always fight someone you know. Your gonna get beat if all the camps are saying the same thing. Who’s really stretching the truth?”
“If you say you will fight anyone then you will fight anyone. I don’t care how many fights someone has. I’m a fighter and I will fight anyone and I’ve proven that with the people I’ve already fought might not have won but I have proved my heart by fighting people with way more experience than me.”

I don’t know about this Chavez Camp, but I sure would say that they are just looking for fighters that they know they can defeat. Its seems that they need to do more research instead of making outrageous claims about fighters and get in the ring like the other females do. After listening to many other sources say that the Chavez camp has back out of fights due the other fighter being to big, does not have verified record or have some tape on them then this camp is really damaging Women’s MMA and making the sport of Women’s MMA look bad. It seems that New Mexico has not caught up with the rest of world when promoting fights and finding fighters that are worthy to fight Angelica, well I have to say it is not going to work that way and it never will. Many sources says that the Chavez camp will be blackballed throughout the MMA world due to they back out of fights at the last minute because they think the other fighter is to big or for some crazy reason.

This is not how you promote Women’s MMA and I hope other promotions will follow and watch this Chavez camp and keep them away from promotions.
