All the trash talk, all the mean stares and all threats of staying undefeated until I retire really backfired on Bethe last night at UFC 190.
Correia had no clue that Ronda was that good and she was just another victim of Ronda’s powerful and quick hands that she was face planted to the octagon mat and the fight was stopped just 34 seconds of the first round. After seeing Correia on the ground and she finally recovered it looked like she was really disappointed and was teary eyed. Correia did get a few punches as you could see redness on Ronda’s face but it did not phase Ronda one bit.
Here is another fighter who thought she could taunt, make fun of, talk trash and say something about her family and they go down within seconds. If Bethe would of concentrated more on the fight instead of talking all that garbage she could of had a chance of getting out of the first round where Ronda has been seen weak and tries to get her opponent to the ground.
Correia fell right into the game plan of what Ronda and her team had been planning the whole time. Ronda even said so after the fight, “I planned to overwhelm her to make her clinch” and that’s what Correia did, fell for the game plan that Ronda had and got knocked out.
The Rankings at UFC.com showed Bethe number 3 in the world is sure likely to go down a bit and will have to work her way back up again if at all possible. Are we going to see another fight between Bethe and Ronda before she retires, unlikely, Bethe had her chance and she lost, in which likely she will have to fight a good chunk of fights to even get a chance again.
Ronda did say after the fight that she hopes future fighters will get the idea “Stop saying anything about my Family” and hopefully fighters will learn.
