Cubs prospect Happ homers for first MLB hit

Ian Happ had an eventful and unforgettable Major League debut. The Cubs’ No. 2 prospect was called out on a slide at second base in the fifth that resulted in an inning-ending double play, didn’t get credit for a hit when first baseman Matt Carpenter was charged with an error, and hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning of a 5-3 loss to the Cardinals on Saturday at Busch Stadium.
