Defeated Coenen Defends Immediate Title Shot
After her third-round knockout win over Roxanne Modafferi in July, Strikeforce 135-pound women’s champion Sarah Kaufman said she should be fighting on one of Strikeforce’s main card, not in a Challengers event.
Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker listened to Kaufman and now her second title defense, against Dutch fighter Marloes Coenen, is set for Strikeforce’s Oct. 9 card at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.
Again, us followers of women’s MMA still believe that Marloes should of not gotten another title after the loss to Santos and Sarah Kaufman will prove that again when they fight. Us followers and fans would of like to see either a Baszler or Tate match up or heck a fighter that is up and coming, as Sarah has all along she wants to fight the toughest out there and really not ones that she fought already, Strikeforce really messed the table here bringing in Marloes to fight Kaufman in which we will see that Marloes cannot drop the weight correctly and find out that 135 is even tougher than being at 145.
Marloes will be stripped down to the core from Kaufman and running back to her home country thinking what in the world did I do wrong.
Scott Coker really needs to find some competition for Kaufman not finding fighters that Kaufman has fought in the past and certainly not fighters that have been defeated by Cyborg.
