Invicta FC 11 Charmaine Tweet vs. Cris Cyborg to headline
Invicta FC is heading to California and they are heading to the great city of Los Angeles. This will be the first time the promotion is heading to the west coast which will have Invicta FC 145lb champion Cris Cyborg against the challenger Charmaine Tweet from Canada Feb 27th for the Featherweight title.
This Invicta card is going to be the same weekend as UFC 184: Weidman vs. Belfort in which we will see Rousey vs. Zingano and odds have Rousey as the strong favorite.
Both fighters coming off wins with Cyborg winning her last fight back in 2013 and Tweet coming off two wins in 2014 against Veronica Rothenhausler and avenging her loss to Barone back in 2011 with a win in 2014 by rear naked choke.
Charmaine who finished eight fights in the first round six of them are wins and out of two losses one of them was against the current Bantamweight UFC Champion Ronda Rousey. Its no surprise that Invicta is having their card the same weekend as the UFC with reports that Cyborg is negotiations to sign with UFC but stay under the Invicta banner. It seems that both promotions want a super-fight between Rousey and Cyborg, the only person that is standing in the way is Charmaine Tweet.
Talking to Team Tweet’s camp earlier today they feel both promotions are already looking over her and preparing for a Rousey fight but team Tweet has spoilers in the making just like last years Waterson’s fall from grace, TJ dillanshaw or Connor McGregors wins as Tweet’s camp put it, they are not going down quietly and have been preparing for this fight the past year and half. They go on to say that they are not working on anything specific for Cyborg when asked but are preparing for anything that Cyborg has and see Cyborg as a one dimensional fighter and Tweet is the only fighter that has the same power or more than Cyborg.
If you look at both fighters stats Tweet has the height and reach for this fight and as we have seen in Cyborgs last kickboxing match she is beatable. Team Tweet is ready to spoil Cyborgs return to cage after a two year lay off from MMA competition and only doing a kickboxing match in 2014 in which she lost.
The odds have not been posted yet for this fight but it is sure to be heavy favorite for Cyborg which is fine with Charmaine she has told us.
