Wow the news came out today that Sarah Kaufman will take on Alexis Davis for a third time April 26th at UFC 186 in Montreal Canada.
Both Canadian fighters are fighting in their home country which seems practical for each fighter trying to become a contender again for Ronda Rousey.
If you go back to 2007 that was Alexis Davis’s first loss at UCW 7 against Sarah Kaufman as a professional fighter, since then she has compiled a record 16-6 with another loss to Kaufman in 2012. Davis is looking to get back to a contender sport after her disappointing loss to Rousey with KO sixteen seconds in the first round at UFC 175.
Sarah Kaufman has not done any better in the UFC going 1-1 with decisions in both fights. Kaufman also is looking to become a contender once again for Rousey hoping to defeat her if given another chance.
This match makes sense for the matchmaker but for the media and many others, including fans they are left scratching their heads wondering why a third match since Kaufman clearly won the last two, although Kaufman did barely win the last match with a majority decision which in all eyes is more like a draw. Which seems why the matchmaker probably wants to see this fight happen and since they are in Canada, why not?
Good luck to both fighters on their upcoming training camps and fight.
