According to Marloes and Julia’s social networks both fighters are fighting for Bellator’s inaugural Featherweight title at Bellator 155.
Bleacher Report first let everyone know about the upcoming bout with the two fighters as the fight will be featured as the preliminary bout that will be aired on Bellator.com and its mobile app.
Marloes has questioned the bout being on the preliminary card since it is a title fight as well as other in the media have made it known that most title fights are at least featured on the main card that is televised to gain the most exposure for the fighters.
It seems Bellator is not willing to put the females on a main card just yet as they are probably not in charge of what goes on behind the scenes of who or what is shown on their cards, but who knows with all this backlash we might see them on the main card after all.
Both fighters are on a win streak with Marloes going 2-0 in Bellator by beating Annalisa Bucci and Arlene Blencowe in her first two promotional appearances and Julia has been on a 6 fight win streak after her loss against Ronda Rousey back in 2011 beating the likes of Charmaine Tweet from Invicta getting wins over Roberta Paim Rovel and Gabrielle Holloway.
Bellator 155 takes place at the CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho, on May 20 and is headlined by a middleweight championship clash between Rafael Carvalho and Melvin Manhoef.
