Ronda Rousey Is Making Big Headlines

I have been reading all the stories and listening to podcast of all what has been going down with Ronda Rousey and she made some great comments about how wmma community really needs to wake up and jump into reality, after interviewing her a few months I came to the conclusion she was one of my best interviews I have done with her. She holds nothing back and if you don’t like it, she will tell it like it is.

I am sure that she will tell upfront that this is not beauty pageant but a sport that needs stirring up and some would say “sh*t stirrer” or you can say it politely make some “waves” in the wmma community, I am sure it’s the first choice.

Ronda Rousey At just 17, qualified for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, becoming the youngest judo player in the entire Games, Also in 2004, Rousey won a gold medal at the 2004 World Junior Judo Championships in Budapest, Hungary. In 2008 Ronda competed at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China and received the Bronze Medal.

Can Ronda keep the headlines going up till her next fight, most of the wmma fighters that make headlines usually get shoved aside pretty quick due to the men’s cage matches and really no headlines come out till about a month before their next match, which is extremely sad because its always about the men with reporters in the mma community..

When are the Women going to make it to the mainstream, for now it’s a slow process and I have been working for over 4 years now to keep the headlines going on all wmma news, I just hope that the bigger sites will make sections in their website for women’s mma, instead of just having UFC section.

Ronda’s last fight against Sarah D’Alelio was awesome to watch and whatever anyone thinks Ronda won fair and square and the Ref did his job to the best of his abilities. I am probably the only reporter that has not called the fight a controversy and never will, Ronda heard her screaming and whatever anyone thinks it’s a verbal submission end of story.

I hope to get some interviews with Ronda in the near future just to keep her momentum going till her next fight.

Does anyone think that the next fight for Ronda is going to be Cyborg, many have said that its too early for her and probably needs some more fights before that happens. I am sure that Ronda’s Camp will let her know when a fight with cyborg will come. I keep wondering what the thinking of Ronda is, I wonder is she is thinks she’s ready for cyborg or does she need more time, I wonder what her camp thinks, I am sure will find out when she announces her next fight.

Ronda now 3-0 as a pro and has managed to get every fighter in the first round and with her last fight she only went 25 seconds, many have said that Ronda needs cage time to gain experience, but how does she do that when she only goes 1 round with all the fighters she has faced in ammy’s and pro’s.  I do remember fighters saying that it’s a total different experience from training camp to a actual cage match and that I believe, so hopefully when Ronda has her next fight she will gain some experience or like most fights kick everyone ass in the first round till someone can take her out. Ronda good luck and hope you get the 145 title soon.
