Pro/Ammy: Pro
1. If you had a super power what would it be? Flawless memory.
2. Who would you want with you if you were stranded on a deserted island? There are too many friends I couldn’t do without. But if we all got stranded together, and could build a huge bonfire, then recite poetry, sing songs, and challenge each other to feats of strength and daring, I wouldn’t ever want to leave.
3. What DVD could you watch over and over? Wong Kar Wai’s 2046. Or on a wildly different note, Ryan Hall’s Inverted Guard series.
4. If you won $1,000,000, what’s the first thing you’d buy? Threatened wilderness land that I could manage as a nature reserve.
5. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? On the land I bought with my million bucks from the last question.
6. What’s the last thing you ate? Dave’s Killer Blues bread and a cup of green tea.
7. At which store would you like to max-out a credit card? Anthropologie.
8. Who’s your fave sports team? S-s-s-sports team?
9. If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Wild Blue Yonder
10. What’s your fave song/artist right now? Maybe Captain Beefheart’s “Blabber and Smoke.”
11. What restaurant would you choose for date night? The Black Cypress just across the border in Pullman, WA. Craft cocktails, great food…
12. What’s the farthest you’ve been from home? Oh, I don’t know. France, maybe?
13. If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you choose? A.J. Liebling. A mid-century journalist who wrote about boxing, and food. All of his writing is a delight. I wish I could have spent an evening going to the fights with him. His collection of boxing essays, The Sweet Science, is a classic.
