Amanda, who made her pro MMA debut 3 weeks ago against Brittany Dugas and won by Armbar at 4:59 Round 2, has signed with Invicta Fight Club. She becomes the 2nd Invicta signee this week after Texan Jinh Yu Frey made her announcement last night. Amanda looks to become a threat in the Flyweight (125) division.

Amanda, called “ABC” by most in the fight world, hails from Bath, Michigan.  She fights out of Scorpion Fighting System in Howell, MI, under coach James David Gray. Amanda, whose father was a boxer, started boxing at the age of 12. By age 19, “ABC” had amassed over 20 amateur boxing wins along with a couple of Golden Glove Championships.

“ABC” has also boxed professionally, where her record stands at 1-1. Her second pro bout, August 16, 2013, was fought in an outdoor arena set up on Cellular Field, home of the Chicago White Sox. Sonny Liston had knocked out Floyd Patterson at a former home of the White Sox, Comiskey Park, in 1962. Although Amanda fell to Kristin Gearhart that bout by Unanimous Decision, it was an honor to be included on such a high-profile card.

“ABC” began MMA competition in 2010 against Kathleen Albany, a fight she won decisively by TKO (Punches) in the Round 2. During her career in the amateur MMA ranks, she compiled a record of 8-3 with two KO punches, four TKO’s, two submissions, and only two fights going the distance. This record suggests that “ABC” is an all-around fighter.

Amanda Bobby “ABC” Cooper has a promising future ahead with her new promotion. It is possible that Women’s MMA fans will see her on the next Invicta card, but that decision is left to Invicta FC President Shannon Knapp and Matchmaker, Julie Kedzie.

Good luck “ABC”!
