Both fighters feeling each other out and its really slow, valentina has got some jabs in and nunes is just looking, but Valentina got a good punch in when nunes came in with a leg kick. Nunes finally comes in with a one two punch and misses with the leg kick. 2 minutes left in the fight and both fighters are being very patient. nunes gets a good leg kick to the body and she gets a takedown now nunes has top control on the ground but the round is coming to the end. Valentina got a good upkick in to bring herself back up against nunes the round ends.
both fighters come out slow again and get some jabs in. both fighters get to the ground with nunes on top and has control and nunes is getting some GnP in with some body shots. elbows by nunes with her on top of valentina, nunes is just punishing her with some GnP and now Valentina is bleeding from the top of the left eye. valentina tried to get up but was not able to get complete the move. nunes is pounding with hammerfist. nunes in side control. nunes goes for RNC and is making it hurt but valentina is defending and valentina reverses and the bell rings with Valentina getting away from a RNC sought by nunes.
Valentina knees nunes and elbows nunes and stuns her and valentina slams nunes to the ground and now is getting some good GnP on nunes. Valentina is now pounding on nunes, nunes is able to get back up. valentina gets two knees to the head of nunes. and nunes is just going for the takedown. valentina does not get the third round she slowed down.
Although the last round looked to go to Valentina and she thought she might have gotten the split decision she was slow to come in and do any damage to Amanda as Amanda was just having her way with her. If Valentina is going to dispute any of the fight she just did you have to remember one thing and I have said this many times over and over, finish the fight and “Don’t leave it in the Hands of Judges.” Valentina just showed some good power and was able to hang after many submission attempts by Nunes so that will probably help her make a way back for another fight in the future.
Amanda called out Dana after her fight and said that she is ready for a title fight and she wants. Is Amanda ready? I think she makes the case for it, going 5-1 with the UFC since her promotional debut back in 2013 and is on a 3 win fight streak since March of 2015.
Congrats to Amanda Nunes on her decision win tonight at UFC 196 hoping to see her as a contender for Bantamweight title soon.
