Cat Zingano posted on social media that she will take on Pena July 8th during International Fight Week at UFC 200 in Las Vegas. Zingano who has not fought since her loss former Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey at UFC 184. She has been biting at the bit to get a fight, she really wanted a shot at the title again but since she has not fought since her loss it seems that the UFC is going to make her progress back into the game very slow.
Zingano once a heavily favored fighter to beat Rousey could not make that happen as she lost 14 seconds in the first by submission armlock. She did not get to show off her talent in the cage that night, looking for a comeback to get back in the contender spot is what she is looking for onto her way to become the next Bantamweight Champion.
If anything, Pena wants to disrupt the path to that title that Zingano has been longing since her loss to Rousey so long ago and that it will be Julianna Pena, she has stated multiple times on social media that she wants to fight anyone that’s in the top 5 or fight for the title. The UFC has told her that she needs one more fight. She now has the one more fight and is hoping to be next contender for the title and Pena does believe that she has the right stuff to beat anyone in the top five.
Both fighters will showcase their talent on their upcoming fight which looks like that both fighters can make this fight go the distance unless either fighter can catch a break and get some type of submission or punch that catches either one of them off guard. Either fighter would love to get that TKO or KO victory to show the world that they are ready for the next step in getting that elusive Bantamweight title.
