The Cubs spent virtually the entire season ahead of the pack, entering the year as the favorites, storming out of the gates with the best record in baseball and finishing with 103 wins. They have faced adversity during the postseason — a ninth inning away from a winner-take-all game in the National League Division Series against the Giants, and a series deficit in the NL Championship Series against the Dodgers — but they responded each time.
