New York (January 21, 2014) – Lou Neglia’s Ring of Combat has a tradition of developing fighters with the skills needed to compete in the elite ranks of MMA.  That tradition continues on January 18th for Ring of Combat 47 when five titles will be on the line in what will be a great night of MMA action.  All titles were held by Ring of Combat alumni who now compete in the UFC.

East Coast fighter, Julio Arce, is thankful for the way ROC operates and looks to carry the torch of past ROC champions.  “ROC is a great promotion,” said Arce.  “ It’s very organized, and the fighters get taken care of very well.  I do see myself carrying that tradition.  It gets me really pumped up because it’s getting me one step closer to the UFC,” he continued.

Arce has yet to to taste defeat in MMA but he doesn’t let that add too much pressure as he prepares for his title fight. “A little bit of pressure,” affirmed Arce.  “But then I forget about all that and I just think of it as another fight and another learning experience.  I don’t put all that pressure on my shoulders,” continued Arce.

Before he can call himself an ROC champion, he has to defeat one of his toughest challengers to date in James McLean.

Arce agrees that McLean will be one of his toughest challenges to date and by far one of the most experienced opponents he has faced in the cage.

“McLean is definitely going to test me in every way physically and, mostly, mentally,” said Arce.  “But I’m just going to get in there and unleash my plan and that plan is to fight until one of us leaves with our hand raised in victory.  It won’t be easy for either of us.  He has a lot of experience as a pro, but I have a lot of experience as an amateur in every discipline.  It’s going to be a great fight; I can’t wait,” he continued.

Ring of Combat 47 takes place January 24th at the Tropicana Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey.  The fight can be ordered for live streaming at www.ringofcombat.com. Tickets can be purchased at all Ticketmaster locations or www.ticketmaster.com, www.battlepass.com or the Tropicana Resort box office.
