Gabi Garcia Not Happy With Having To Fight Her 52 Year Old Opponent
Gabi Garcia was just as shocked as the rest of the MMA community when they learned her fourth professional fight would be against 52 year old Shinobu Kandori, a Japanese professional wrestler and senator with a Judo background, famous for her bloody barbed wire wrestling matches. Gabi has always been criticized for being too big and strong for her opponents in the BJJ world, and here it is happening all over again in her new MMA career.
“I was in a room and she was in a separate room,” the Brazilian continued. “They announced me, I entered the press conference and then they announced her. When I saw her, I was like ‘oh my…’ At the press conference, someone asked her if she was going to train hard, and she said she wouldn’t because she can rely on the Japanese technology. I didn’t understand anything [laughs]. Japan is really different. But I don’t pick opponents.”
