Best feeling in the world. Still trying to process and take it all in. There aren’t enough words to express what I am feeling. Thank you @ufc for the opportunity and most of all thank you to my team for believing in me. All the hours in the gym and all the years of dedication to help me get to this moment. This is a priceless moment and I could not have done this on my own. @mmacoachwink its been 17 years and one hell of a ride. Let’s see where it goes from here! Congrats to Holly Holm on the win this past weekend it does seem that Ronda is getting a lot of the press hopefully that will change in the next few days with many more interviews and live appearances for the upcoming months.
Holly came into this fight with a great game plan and executed it perfectly, she took advantage of probably the only weakness that Ronda had in her game and that was the stand up. It has been said that Ronda could not take a punch and that’s what happened.
Many others are blaming her coach, and that’s probably where it should land since she looked totally unprepared for the footwork and hand that comes with a boxer.
Ronda should be looking into getting back to basics in the stand up game, running after Holly like did nothing for her and all it did was tire her out even more and leave herself open for powerful punches that Holly has and those kicks ended it all for her.
Does anyone think of the movie Rocky III when this scenario that’s being played out right now. It sure seems that Ronda needs to find a way to make her stand up game so much better or possibly find a way to defend it and take the to the ground where she is more comfortable.
Good luck to both fighters as they will both probably be back against each other soon.
