Poor location leads to rough outing for Arrieta

Jake Arrieta offered no excuses for his ineffective outing in Colorado on Tuesday, allowing nine runs (five earned) over 3 2/3 innings in a 10-4 loss to the Rockies to begin a doubleheader. It was his shortest outing in 105 starts with the Cubs, and only the third time in his career he’s allowed nine runs in a game.
