Raquel Pennington looking for a win tonight and taking the fight on two weeks notice due to Liz Carmouche dropping out against a tough Jessica Andrade who is 4-2 in the UFC and has been with them since 2013. Raquel who is 1-2 in the UFC is probably on her way out unless she can win tonight.
These two fighters who fought back at UFC 171 in 2014 came down to a split decision for Jessica, so both fighters are looking for win better than a decision that was 50/50.
Raquel who just lost to Holly Holm by another split decision is just wanting some type of win better than a decision, as many have said if you want to win the fight you can’t leave it in the judges hands. If Raquel wants this fight tonight she has to win before all three rounds expire.
Jessica is looking to solidify her spot for a contender spot one day as she is ranked #13 with the UFC and is working her way back to the #1 contenders spot since losing a few times when she working to get the that contender spot.
The fight is underway and its looks Jessica is doing well and gets the first takedown of the night and great control of the cage.
It looks like Raquel has improved since her last fight and the last time she fought Jessica.
This fight is what it was like last time both fighters are trading shots and going to the ground but Jessica always gets the control on the ground while Jessica is always trying to get it out.
Wow Raquel gets the submission with a “Rear Naked Choke” with two seconds left in the round. Raquel is calling this her revenge tour and revenge she got, Jessica Andrade did not see that comming at all was looking for a submission herself but looked tired and looked tired at the end of round 1 which showed later in round 2. Jessica was also going for a rear naked choke and Raquel got out of it and did some good GnP then Raquel saw opportunity to go for the RNC and got with almost no time on the clock.
This will what will keep Raquel in the UFC a little longer is she keeps on winning like that. Jessica falls to 1-2 in 2015 with the UFC and Raquel will be 2-2 in the UFC and 1-1 in 2015.
Congrats to Raquel Pennington who was a heavied underdog for this fight and coming back with a win that probably shocked many in the media. We hope to see her move up in the rankings and looking forward one for her also to get a contender spot for Bantamweight title.
