The ACB cage is in Asia for the first time
On December 20 the international organization Absolute Championship Berkut will hold a tournament in the capital of the brotherly republic of Tajikistan, Dushanbe, for the first time in its history. This evening the audience will witness crushing fights with the recognized masters of mixed martial arts from all over the world. The cage will be on fire from the brutal fight card excellently prepared by the matchmakers of one of the most promising Russian MMA promotion companies.
The audience will see the real clash of the titans in the main fight of the night between Musa Hamanaev (15-4, Russia) and Brian Cobb (20-8, USA). Over the past few years Musa has taken a hard road from a young promising prospect to already established professional fighter. In addition to his numerous awards and regalia, the most outstanding achievement of a 28-year-old Russian at the moment is that he won the M-1 title in the lightweight division. However, this athlete is clearly not going to stop – he is still self-disciplined, motivated and very hungry to win. Especially as he just needs a spectacular comeback after an insulting failure in the last fight, when he was forced to surrender after being “caught” with a painful hold. He will be opposed by a seasoned veteran Brian Cobb, having behind him more than 10 years of acting on a professional scene. The American athlete is not a one-way fighter and always had well-balanced skills, so that he will feel comfortable both in stand-up and on the ground. Despite his two-year break in fighting, Cobb is in great shape and ready to prove everybody that at 35 he is capable of much more.
The collision of Eduard “Lionheart” Vartanian (11-2, Russia) with an experienced wolf Magomedrasul “Frodo” Hasbulaev (22-5, Russia) will truly be the most anticipated fight of the tournament. Hasbulaev hardly requires a particular introduction – at the mention of “Frodo” Russian MMA fans have long been imagining not a good-natured Hobbit, but this strong-willed and powerful athlete. On his return from the “overseas campaign” in the first fight Hasbulaev has effortlessly dealt with Antonio Magno, choking him in the first round at the ACB 22. With this victory he clearly signaled that his long downtime did not have a negative influence on him, and he is ready for any challenges. However, the next challenge for him is definitely not going to be a walk in the park, since his opponent will be a very dangerous young athlete Eduard Vartanyan. For the latter this tournament will provide a great opportunity to recover after his disappointing loss to Ali Bagov put a stop to his extraordinary 11-fight winning streak. In his career the young prospect has won over such solid fighters as Amirhan Adaev (8-2), Jamal Magomedov (8-3), Benjamin Brins (14-3), Sergey Khandozhko (19-2-1), Sergey Faley (17-8), and Florent Betorangal (16-12). Vartanyan won 7 of his 11 victorious fights early, with 4 of them by knockout.
The fight between Ibrahim Tibilov (9-5, Russia) and Abu Azaytar (10-1, Germany) is going to be really fierce. Azaytar has an extremely aggressive manner –only two of his fights reached the judges’ decision. The German has only one defeat in his entire career, and he is undoubtedly focused on adding the “scalp” of another victim to his collection. Tibilov is recently alternating wins with losses, so for him it is very important to win this fight primarily in the psychological point of view. He will absolutely make every effort to ensure that at the end of the fight the referee lifts up his hand.
The ACB promotion advances with giant strides, and the level of the tournaments, both in the respect of the fights, and in the respect of the organization, is growing with each new event. If you still think that there are no exciting fights in Russia, we have for you a piece of advice – just watch any of our tournaments and draw conclusions on your own. We promise – you will not regret it.
A sequence of 14 uncompromising fights, which will take place on the central arena of Dushanbe on December 20, 2015 will help us find out who is the king of beasts, and for whom it is too early to claim being the leader of the lion pride. Do not miss this!
