In a statement this afternoon, the UFC announced much-anticipated tryout details for The Ultimate Fighter 20. The tryouts, which will begin on Monday, April 28, 2014, will fill the remaining five open castmember spots. The TUF 20 winner will become the UFC strawweight’s inaugural champion and receive a contract to fight in the UFC.
Eligibility qualifications are as outlined by the UFC: “Candidates must be female, between the ages of 21 and 34 years of age, have the legal ability to live and work in the United States, and have professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight experience – holding a winning record (with verifiable records). Applications, which should be completed and brought to the tryouts, can be found online at ufc.com/tuf20.”
Tryouts commence April 28 in the Grand Ballroom of The Palace Station Hotel, 2411 West Sahara Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada 89102. Registration begins @ 8:00 a.m. PT.
Applicants will be required to hit pads and grapple and are instructed to bring appropriate gear. If chosen to continue through to Phase 2, the fighter will be notified and will stay in Las Vegas through May 1.
Filming is expected to start sometime in May with an anticipated September 10 air date on Fox Sports 1.
