This fight went as expected, Valentina gets the win with a submission and Julianna takes the loss and egg in her face after all the talk that she wanted to be the new face of women’s mma since Ronda has had her troubles.

both fighters touch gloves when instructions given by Herb Dean. Pena comes out stalking, Pena goes for the clinch and Val tries to defend look for a reverse. Pena knees to the body, Take down by Val and now val on top, pena looking for way out, pena able to get back to her feet and have clinch control to the cage, more knees to the body by pena, takedown by val, side control by val, pena looking for way to get out, val goes for hammerfist pena able to defend, pena looking to get up again, GNP by val, armbar by pena, pena does not get the armbar as the bell rings to end the round.

Rnd 2
Pena told corner that she hurt her shoulder during fight in Rnd 1, both fighters come swinging but Pena goes for the clinch agaist the cage. great clinch control by pena, and able to get some good knees to the body, Val looking for the takedown, pena gets part of a takedown, more clinch control by pena and knees to body, Pena gets a takedown and now on top control, elbows by pena, Val punches up to get some jabs up on the bottom, pena still on top, and great contorl but val has the armbar and gets the win!!! haha

After the fight the commentator was talking to Valentina about her fight and the current Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes was allowed to come into the octagon to make her presence felt and both fighters were allowed to talk to each other to make the case for their upcoming championship fight that should be coming up soon.
Pena who was on a four fight win streak will have to wait a while longer to get a chance at the title and even try to become the face of women’s mma as she has stated all along.
Dana White has stated in the post press conference that there will be a title fight between Valentina Shevchenko and Julianna Peña the date pending.
