Jenna Bernick and Heather Martin go the distance
This past weekend a fight between two talented heavyweights, although the outcome came as a win for Martin, this fight went all three rounds with both fighters not giving up.
Jenna who is (0-5) as a pro took the fight all three rounds which she has never done before, she looked great and was very prepared for this fight as well as being a seasoned fighter for the first time in here career. Watching the fight after it was posted on Facebook Jenna showed so much determination to get the win. Each round she came out fresh and ready to pounce on Heather with some viscous knee shots to the body, she did that throughout all rounds. Heather won round 1&2 with some good punching, clinch and control in the cage, while Jenna looked to win round 3 with some awesome knees to the body and more control of the cage. The judges did have it all three rounds for Heather for Decision (Unanimous).
Heather went on to say that she felt that Jenna did win round 3 and was the better fighter in that round from Facebook: “Heather Martin Jenna you did do awesome! Hell, I told you myself the third round was yours I didn’t know what the judges were watching. You were so much stronger than me the only thing I could do by then was try to stay so close to you the hits didn’t give me damage. And that was hard as hell too. Your hands have improved greatly from all the footage I watched on you. You kept me from being able to fight MY game plan and that is the whole objective. If anyone has ANYTHING negative to say hell tell them we will line up and they can kiss both of our asses.”
and she also had to say this: “Heather Martin It was a really fun fight Jenna, 
and sportsmanship wise you were one of the best opponents I’ve ever faced. The third round was all you. Screw what the judges said. I’m a big enough person to admit that. I think if you stay with the gym you are with I think you will go a lot further. They have definitely made a huge difference. I will support you 100% of the way strictly based off of the heart and hard work you put forth in there with me. I really do appreciate that fight. You gave me a lot of things that I need to work on and improve and I’m grateful. Thank you for being such a classy opponent. I wish you the best in your career in the smaller classes”
What great sportsmanship between both fighters, Heather Martin is a classy fighter, she moves to 1-1 as a pro and we hope to see her back in the cage soon.
I wanted to let Jenna know what I meant about Celine Haga if she reads this article, Celine started her career going 0-4 in 2009 to 2010 before winning one, then after that she lost seven in a row from 2010 to 2012 before winning and going 6-2 to the present, many called her the comeback fighter of the year between 2012 and 2013 and is now a well rounded fighter and a force to be reckon with, she never let those losses get to her she was determined to fight and win and that’s what I hope that will happen to you Jenna, keep at it and that win will come soon, good luck on your surgery cannot wait to see you back in the cage after your surgery!!
