For those of our readers who don’t know a great deal about you, please write a short bio. I have been in boxing for a decade. For the last 2 years i have been trying to break into the MMA scene. I have 17 professional boxing fights and a former world champion
Have you been involved in any sports other than martial arts? I have been in sports all my life. Started in martial arts and progressed into everything from hockey, basketball, rugby, wrestling, soccer and eventually boxing.
What is your record and do you have any impending fights? I am recordless! But fighting on the KOTC card in Minnesota July 12th!! Which I am thrilled for the debut opportunity!
How did you get involved in MMA? I have always loved the sport but was dedicated to my boxing career. I have fought the best in the boxing world and loved every minute but the idea of competing MMA became more appealing to me than boxing so I am making the switch!
What is the status of your MMA journey and where do you see it leading? I am so looking forward to what the future brings! I have amazing trainers, training partners and manager that I know will help me accomplish my goals! Short term goals being to get my career off the ground, long term, to fight the best in the world. most importantly I am enjoying the journey. Learning so much and always having fun!
Tell us a bit about your life outside the cage. Outside of fighting I work a fulltime job. Im an armed nuclear response force officer just outside toronto. My main squeeze is my rottweiller Gids, who I rescued a few years ago. I have the best friends and family who are so supportive that I spend as much time with as possible. I grew up in Niagara falls canada and still spend a lot of time there.
Do you currently have a nickname in this sport? If so, what is it and why? No, I did in boxing but mma is a fresh start. Most people know me as garbs and thats cool with me.
If you could offer one bit of advice to an aspiring fighter what would it be? Stay true and loyal to the people that help you, believe in yourself even if no one else does, be grateful and enjoy the journey cuz if your not wtf is the point? Fighting is fun.
Would you like to give a shout out to any sponsors or individuals who have supported you? Justin Bruckmann and everyone at BMA especially Derek Falk (manchild) and Antonio Carvalho. My manager Brad DaSilva, warrior fight store, Don Nelson and MC boxing and all my awesome friends and fam! Love you guys!
Is there anything you’d like to add? Go blue jays!
