Name: Taylor “The Terror” Guerra

Age: 14

Location: USA

Gym: Brasa Team

Weight Class: 92 pounds

Tell us a little about yourself. My name is Taylor; I’m a 14 yr old female BJJ/Nogi fighter for Team Brasa. I have been training and competing since 2009 and i’m a high orange belt. My dad is my instructor, and 7x World Champion Coach Rodrigo “Comprido” Medeiros is our head instructor.

How’d you get into martial arts? I started climbing trees, street lamps, whatever when I was younger; played softball for about a year and did some gymnastics. I got into BJJ because of my Dad and older brother Matt-I always wanted to fight like my brother so I joined his BJJ school and never stopped.

Your record is incredible we hear! I have 113 competition wins-96 were by submission and 18 losses

What do you see in your future? I see myself going after Blue belt adults in about a year and a half when i’m 16, I want to compete with the best girls and put all my training to the test. Hopefully, I’ll have my own school someday.

Are you ever a regular 14 year-old? I hang with friends, listen to music, go to school, that kind of stuff.

Tell us about your nickname. My nickname is The Terror, it was given to me by one of my nogi instructors (Danny Milrainey) because he said i terrorized his kids class.

What advice would you give to girls aspiring to do well in BJJ? Try new things as soon as you learn them, don’t make training a competition, it’s all learning. When i spar in class i’m not trying to tap my partners with my best moves, I try the new technique even if I get tapped for it, and then I try it some more until i get it. If all you care about is winning with your go-to moves, you’ll win, until they figure it out, and then what?

Anyone you wanna shout out? Shout out to my sponsors Combat Skin and Kimonos Dragao!! Clay Guida’s MMASTOP Fitness, BrasaTeam, Comprido BJJ, all my training partners and everyone who follows my Facebook and Twitter! Thank all of you!

Anything else? Bullying isn’t cool, you’re not tough, don’t do it
